Blogger Christmas Home Tour 2017 with Pearl Street Designs

Welcome to Christmas on Pearl Street

Thanksgiving has come and gone and the Christmas season is ramping up!  All of blog land has been filled with Christmas decor and shopping guides for a few weeks now, but I just can’t bring myself to decorate until after Thanksgiving.  Call me crazy, but I can’t eat turkey while I am looking at a Christmas tree.  Anyone else feel that way?

The day after Thanksgiving that all changed!  The hubby pulled down all the Christmas decorations and I got busy…very busy!

I am joining today with a group of very talented home decor bloggers to bring you the Christmas Home Tour 2017.  Be sure to visit all the talented ladies at the links at the bottom of this post for more Christmas inspiration.

Come on in and let me show you around our home…

This is our forgotten living room that I made over for the One Room Challenge this fall.  I only added a few hints of Christmas to this room because we are rarely ever in here.  This is my bright and colorful eclectic room so I wanted to keep it fun.

A few ceramic Christmas themed containers with faux succulents, an old pickle jar filled with left over ornaments, my vintage light up glass tree, and the skinny tree that my son hates.  I tried to get away with only using it one year and have never heard the end of it!

Christmas home tour with 16 talented home decor bloggersAs we move into the dining room the mood changes a bit to a more traditional look.  The mantle took on a life of it’s own as I was putting up the garland (sometimes those things happen) and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The table is a bit more simple with vintage dishes all set for Christmas breakfast.  Our children bring their children over bright and early on Christmas Eve morning and I whip up a ginormous (it is getting bigger every year) of bacon and french toast.

My DIY Christmas tree this year gave birth to a whole new color scheme for our tree and I am loving all the cheery color of the green and pink paired with silver.

A few other items here and there for some Christmas joy and I call it done.  Less is more, especially when you have to put it all away in a month.

  6. Love the living area and the little tree from ribbon? But I am totally crushing on the dining room set up. I want to do one now. Johnny was looking at your post with me last night ( yep, he was up really late) and your living space was the only way he said, now that is cool! So I am allowing him to do something with the gaming room upstairs. I hope it does not involve taping racetracks to the wall. :/ . He said, I wonder how she got the arrows on the wall. hmmm, So, if you get random text, tell him you only licensed designers can use those tools ROFL

  12. So cute Susanne, I love that you have two trees, and a skinny one which I’ve wanted for some time. Your mantle is giving me mantle envy (because it’s lovely and I don’t have one to decorate). The pink and green theme is awesome, just like your little fabric ribbon tree you made 😀 Love all of it!

    1. skstewart1220@hotmail.com says:

  13. Susanne, I love your multiple trees. The tree in the basket is my fave! But that pink on your other tree is so fun and festive! I love your family farmhouse table with rustic decor too. It reminds me of growing up in my large family, and feels so welcoming – like HOME. And that rustic toolbox! I am going to borrow that idea for next year! Thanks so much for inviting us into your home. Merry Christmas!

  14. Susanne, everything is beautiful! Of course I love the burlap, but I also love your traditional color scheme with the pops of red and green! Your mantle is just perfect! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home!

    1. skstewart1220@hotmail.com says:

Thank you Sarah!! Sadly the the hook holding up one end of the garland on the mantle came off and when I tried to fix it the whole darn thing came down…ugh! It is all currently sitting in a heap in the rocking chair, lol!! Merry Christmas!!
