Guest Bathroom Makeover Inspiration
How do we know it’s spring in designer blog land? When it is time for the spring One Room Challenge! Woot Woot! The One Room Challenge is a Bi-annual event hosted by Linda from Calling it Home and media partner House Beautiful , where designers have just six short weeks to makeover a room of their choice…YES! Just…Six…Weeks. For this round of the ORC I am going to be making over our guest bathroom. Nothing has been done to the guest bathroom since we moved into this house almost 16 years ago…I would say it is overdue for some love, don’t ya think?

Last fall was my first time participating in the ORC and I had so much fun making over our Forgotten Living Room and now it is a space we love and enjoy.
The process of designing a room just sparks a fire in me, it gets my creative juices flowing and my imagination runs rampant. Dream big, then refine the design. The first step to a great design is always gathering inspiration, and that is what I have been doing this week.
I like to gather inspiration from different home decor sites, they almost always have room inspiration sections on their websites and I found lots of inspiration for our guest bathroom. Here are just a few I found that spoke to me.
Guest Bathroom Inspiration

What caught my eye about this design by Amy Kartheiser was that amazing wallpaper, the brass drawer pulls, and the picture light used above the vanity. I think that is just an ingenious use for a picture light.

Dark blue, brass, and marble. What’s not to love about that in a small bathroom? The blue color and the brass is what really called to me in this one. The rug I chose for our living room makeover sparked my love of blue and it is still with me, I just can’t seem to get enough.

The thing that caught my eye in this bathroom designed by Deeply Southern Home was that amazing mirror. The shape brings a vintage vibe to this bathroom and really speaks to my eclectic soul.
Over the next six weeks I will be working to transform our guest bathroom into an eclectic space that compliments the living room, so stay tuned as the work progresses. I’ll meet you back here next Wednesday to reveal my plan and a progress update on what was accomplished during the week. Oh, and the before photos because no room makeover is complete without the horrifying before photos.
