Spring Decor Inspiration with Wayfair

The Wayfair Spring Edit Q & A with Susanne of Eclectic Chic Blog

Wayfair: Spring cleaning is basically an annual tradition for most people. What is the first thing you suggest to people who ask your advice on how to start getting organized?

Susanne: Do the jobs you most dislike to do first. Get them out of the way then move on to the easier stuff. When you do it this way you are sure to get all your organizing and cleaning done.

Wayfair: What are the top three spaces in a home that typically require the most organization?

Susanne: Closets, kitchen pantries, and dresser drawers. It’s a constant battle in my home to stay on top of these areas.

Wayfair: Moving on to design aesthetics, which color palettes are speaking to you this season?

Susanne: I’m still really loving the modern color pallets of grays and crisp whites. Throw in a little pale rose and that really speaks spring to me.

Wayfair: Are there any interior design trends that are really standing out to you right now?

Susanne: Decorating with plants. Have you seen all the cute little pots they have right now?! I recently bought a pot for my dolphin succulent that is the face of a woman. The dolphin succulent hangs over the pot and looks like hair. It’s quite a conversation piece.

Spring Highlight: Affordable Spring Bedroom and Closet Refresh

Spring is in the air and it’s time for a refresh! I always like to start by throwing open the windows and letting in the fresh air then I start decluttering all the stuff that has accumulated over the winter months. Starting with a clean slate makes a spring refresh so much easier!

Consider switching out your bedspread, add some fresh flowers, and shop your own home for decor that fits the mood you’re going for when you’re decorating on a budget. A new fresh paint color is an inexpensive way to refresh a space and you can always change it again later if you want to.

I used a fun peel and stick wallpaper when I made over my master closet. Peel and stick wallpaper is easy to install and can definitely be done as a one person job. I put this up all by myself in less than an hour!

Wallpaper in a small space makes a statement even in our small master closet makeover reveal. #wallpaper #smallmastercloset #closetmakeover #organizing

Springtime Kitchen Renovation Inspiration

Kitchen updates aren’t the same as a full on kitchen reno. When you think update consider painting your island a different color than your cabinets, change out drawer pulls, or purchase new appliances.

Bold colored cabinets are on my radar right now, I really love a good dark green cabinet color. Open shelving is a trend that hasn’t gone away and I’ve added a couple of them to my kitchen.

The next purchase will be a counter depth refrigerator. You may think you will loose space, but do you really use the space in the back of your fridge or is it just the spot that leftovers go to die.

For those working on kitchen updates this spring, shop everything from French door refrigerators, retro refrigerators, microwaves, wine refrigerators, and more on Wayfair.

Spring Decor Inspiration for the Bathroom

When trying to decide on a design style for your bathroom, consider what you will really be using it for. It should fit your lifestyle.

If you are always on the go and don’t have time for a leisurely bath EVER then you might consider a stand up shower. Invest in good lighting and make sure to have plenty of storage to fit your needs. A Pinterest worthy bathroom is great, but if it doesn’t work with your lifestyle then it isn’t going to do you any good.
